Those who have read Gaston Leroux's version of Phantom know that he said that any woman who looked at his face belonged to him forever. Well this has that basic concept but instead of belonging to him, Erik kills them, and in this case its Christine. (Muahahahahaah) So throughout the entire video its Christine sort of remembering all the pain she went through with Erik along with her running from him. Will she get away? It all started 100 years ago (1909-1910) by a French author called Gaston Leroux who wrote "The Phantom of the Opera." Since then, it's become a classic in French literature and has spawned dozens of movies, musicals, novels, plays and even some ballets. The quotes in PURPLE are from the narration, and the ones in BLUE are spoken. I'm a pretty fast reader and tend to time the appearance of quotes according to my own pace, so there are some parts where you may have to go go back in the video and read them again. Sorry about that! This book isn't for everyone...if you discovered the existence of this novel from Andrew Lloyd Webber's beautiful musical, the Phantom is quite different from the one you're used to...even darker, more twisted, more grotesque. Leroux's novel is, at heart, a Gothic romance novel. But if you're interested in reading it, it's quite good. ENJOY! Music is "My Last Breath" by Evanescence. (Edit: The photo at the end is from that romance movie we girls can't get enough of...The Notebook. The universe of The Notebook is completely different from The Phantom of the Opera, but it was the best one I had.)
